DELFT HAVEN 

DELFT HAVEN is a clean, but rather dull town on the coast of Holland, a few miles from Rotterdam. It is of great interest to Americans, as being the place from which the first band of Pilgrim Fathers sailed for America. This was in the Speedwell, on the 22d of July, 1620. At Southampton England she was joined by the Mayflower with English Pilgrims, or Puritans, who had not emigrated to Holland. 
The two vessels had sailed but one hundred miles when the Speedwell sprung a leak, and both it and the Mayflower put into Dartmouth harbor, and the leak was stopped .But the Speedwell sprung another leak when near Land's End, and both vessels put into Plymouth harbor, where it was resolved to leave the unseaworthy Speedwell; and all went in the Mayflower, except about twenty, who could not be accommodated. On the 22d of December, the Mayflower reached the bay and port afterwards called Plymouth, and the Pilgrims landed on Forefathers Rock, and became the founders of the New England States.

For design 

The little girl's face and arms should be flesh-color,her eyes blue, and hair yellow, or light-brown. Her dress may be yellow, pink, or blue, the roses red, with yellow centers, and green leaves and stems. The cap may be the same color as the dress, with the plain part of the cap, the apron and cuffs white. The tulips may be red, orange, or yellow, depending on the color of the girl's dress. The flower pot may be green or brown. 

The poster maybe used as the coloring page, or printed out as the decoration of the blackboard of the class for the month of March. 

The poster was approved for the decoration of the classes of the Public Schools and Kindergartens of The United States Of America by The Department Of Education Of The United States Of America.

 The sky may be bright blue, with white clouds, and the water of the canal a darker blue than the sky. The windmills and fence may be dark gray or brown, and the windows yellow. The grass should be bright green, and the tulips bright yellow. red. orange pink. with gray green leaves. Outline all with black.
